In today’s business world, the ability to communicate effectively and assertively is a critical necessity for any leader. Recently, I taught the Postgraduate Program in Leadership and People Development at the @UdG University of Girona and want to share some key learnings.
This course is designed for:
– Professionals who lead teams
– Individuals looking to develop communication and leadership skills
Assertiveness was a key topic. In the business environment, assertiveness is essential because:
-If you don’t communicate, your ideas go unnoticed
-If you communicate poorly, you can create conflicts
We focused on identifying barriers to assertive communication, developing strategies to express thoughts clearly and respectfully, and practicing intensively in real-life situations. Practice was the heart of the learning experience, with exercises, simulations, and role-playing that helped participants handle conflicts and communicate confidently.
This experience reaffirmed my conviction that assertiveness transforms team dynamics and company success.
